Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By accessing or using Alma ("Alma", "the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The Service

Alma is an AI‑powered conversational companion that helps you record and preserve your life story through voice conversations. The App uses artificial intelligence to organize your memories, reflections, and personal narratives into a structured autobiography.

Features may change over time. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

Alma offers auto-renewable subscription plans that unlock unlimited conversations and additional features.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
• You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• No refund is provided for the unused portion of the current subscription period upon cancellation.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Prices are displayed in your local currency in the App and may vary by region. Prices may change from time to time, and we will notify you in advance of any price increases.

4. Free Tier

Alma offers a limited number of free conversations. Once the free allocation is used, a subscription is required to continue recording new conversations. Browsing your existing memories, biography, and settings remains free.

5. Acceptable Use

• No unlawful, harmful, or abusive behaviour.
• No attempts to disrupt or reverse‑engineer the service.
• Respect the privacy of all users.
• Do not use the service to generate harmful, illegal, or misleading content.

6. Accounts & Deletion

You are responsible for your account activity and for maintaining the security of your sign‑in method.

You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App (Settings → Danger Zone → Delete My Account). Account deletion is immediate and irreversible — all your memories, reflections, characters, conversations, and personal data will be permanently removed.

7. AI-Generated Content

Alma uses artificial intelligence to help structure and enrich your autobiography. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content (such as summaries, enrichments, and chapter titles) may contain inaccuracies. You are encouraged to review and edit your content. The App is not a substitute for professional biographical, medical, or legal services.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and process your data.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages as permitted by law.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
